Women’s Health

Our women’s health evaluations are designed for individuals who want more time, clarity, and partnership in their care — especially during periods of hormonal change related to perimenopause and menopause.

Perimenopause/
Menopause

Perimenopause and menopause are natural life stages driven by hormonal changes that can significantly affect both the body and the brain.

  • Perimenopause often begins in the 40s (and sometimes earlier), when progesterone levels gradually decline and estrogen levels begin to fluctuate in a more unpredictable pattern, before estrogen eventually decreases more consistently in menopause. These shifts — alongside changes in other hormones — can contribute to a wide range of physical, emotional, and cognitive symptoms that may feel disruptive and impact day-to-day functioning, overall well-being, and connection with others.

  • Symptoms during this transition can be broad and look different for everyone, with experiences that may shift over time.

    • Hot flashes, night sweats, and/or irregular menstrual cycles

    • Sleep disruption or insomnia

    • Anxiety or increased stress sensitivity

    • Mood changes or mood swings

    • Brain fog, poor concentration, or memory changes

    • Extreme fatigue or low energy

    • Low libido or changes in sexual function

    • Hair thinning or hair loss

    • Changes in skin, including dryness or adult acnetion

  • Initial Visit (60 minutes)

    • Comprehensive review of medical history and current concerns

    • Evaluation of personal health risks and discussion of which treatment options are safest and most appropriate

    • Lab work to assess hormonal and other relevant health markers, while also ruling out other conditions that can mimic menopausal symptoms, such as thyroid issues or vitamin/mineral deficiencies

    • Collaborative development of a personalized plan with education on evidence-based options

    Follow-Up Visits (30 minutes)

    • Review and evaluate ongoing symptoms

    • Assess benefit and tolerability of medications or other interventions

    • Determine need for dose adjustments, additional therapies, or refinements to the treatment plan

    • Continued education and guidance to support your goals and overall well-being

Because we prioritize individualized care, the frequency and approach for follow-up may vary from person to person, ensuring your plan meets your unique needs

Women’s Health Evaluations

These visits offer a comprehensive, unhurried approach to understanding symptoms, concerns, and goals, grounded in years of clinical experience and evidence-based practice.

  • Our women’s health evaluations are designed for individuals who want more time, clarity, and partnership in their care — especially during periods of hormonal change related to perimenopause and menopause. These visits offer a comprehensive, unhurried approach to understanding symptoms, concerns, and goals, grounded in years of clinical experience and evidence-based practice.

Each evaluation begins with a detailed medical history and thoughtful exploration of your symptoms, experiences, and quality of life. Many people arrive feeling dismissed, rushed, or unsure whether their concerns are “normal.” At Navea, we intentionally create a space to listen — allowing for meaningful conversation, deeper understanding, and care that reflects the full picture of your health.

  • Education is a cornerstone of these visits. With extensive experience in healthcare and specialized training in women’s midlife health, we take the time to explain what may be happening in your body, review available treatment options, and discuss the risks, benefits, and alternatives of each approach. When treatment is indicated, we prioritize FDA-approved therapies and shared decision-making, ensuring care is both safe and aligned with your goals.

When appropriate, we are able to perform laboratory testing on site, helping streamline the evaluation process and provide additional insight into hormonal and overall health. Lab findings are discussed thoughtfully as part of your broader clinical picture and used to inform individualized next steps.

  • Our goal is to make women’s health care feel approachable, respectful, and grounded in both experience and evidence. These evaluations are about restoring trust in the process, honoring your concerns, and helping you move forward with clarity, confidence, and support.
